Our Selling Process
People sell their properties for many different reasons. Skyline Realty Group is aware and sensitive to the fact that it can come with stress, yes, but also emotions that are tied to the home.
What to Expect
By following these steps and working closely with us, you can successfully sell your home and move on to your next adventure.
Hire Us
While it is possible to sell your home without a real estate agent, most people choose to hire one to help navigate the complex process of selling a home. A good agent can help you determine the right price for your home, market your property, and negotiate with potential buyers.
Determine Your Home’s Value
The first step in selling your home is to determine its value.
Make Any Necessary Repairs or Upgrades
Before listing your home, it’s important to address any necessary repairs or upgrades that could make your home more attractive to potential buyers. This could include cosmetic updates, such as repainting or replacing outdated fixtures, or more significant repairs such as fixing a leaky roof.
List Your Home
Once you’ve completed any necessary repairs or upgrades, if any, it’s time to list your home. This typically involves signing a listing agreement and all required disclosures, getting your home active not only in the local multiple listing service, but also on Zillow, realtor.com, etc.
Negotiate Offers
As offers come in, we’ll help you navigate the terms being offered and negotiate the best price and terms for the sale of your home. This can involve counteroffers, inspections, and other negotiations.
Close the Sale
Once you’ve accepted an offer and the due diligence period is over, it’s time to close! This typically involves the buyers completing a final walkthrough of the property to ensure the home is in the same condition as it was at the time of contract. You’ll need to complete the necessary paperwork with an attorney to transfer ownership of your home to the buyer. Once all documents have been signed, funds have been transferred and the attorney records the deed to transfer ownership, it’s time to pass the keys on to the new owners.
